The well renowned and incredibly unconventional artist, Banksy has released his latest work of art which turns small bathroom tiles into a statement art piece now on show in Liverpool.
Banksy has released a new artistic statement in the form of a vandalised Cardinal Sin sculpture, which has the face sawn off and replaced with a number of small bathroom tiles. The piece is said to be a reaction to the child abuse scandals which have surrounded the Catholic Church. The tiles are designed to make the sculpture look like its face has been blurred out.
The art Banksy produces is usually found on the outside of derelict buildings or in car parks and always causes controversy due to an on-going argument about whether it is actually graffiti. The latest piece is exhibited alongside 17th Century European religious art at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, which is said to be Bansky's favourite gallery.
The art produced by Banksy always has a controversial message behind it and the gallery stated that they did have concerns over whether it would fit in the location specifically asked for. However, it was felt that the art should be put on show and for people to make up their own mind about the message behind it.
